Lesson Program
Jennifer Vann’s lesson program is built on a lifelong love of horses and a deep commitment to education. Her approach has been evolving since 1990, with a strong focus on the fundamentals of correct horsemanship and the traditional Hunter/Jumper rider.
At Cascade Farms, lessons are designed to meet both horse and rider where they are, helping each student grow with confidence, correctness, and a strong foundation that will support them throughout their riding journey.
Whether you are new to the sport, returning after time away, or continuing to build toward competitive goals, Jennifer’s program emphasizes thoughtful instruction, steady progress, and doing the basics well.
Who we teach
Our lesson program is designed for riders in many different stages of their journey.
We welcome those who are exploring riding as a new hobby, riders getting back in the saddle after time away, students preparing for the show ring, and seasoned competitors looking to strengthen their foundation.
Lessons are English-focused and centered on the Hunter/Jumper seat, with instruction tailored to support each horse and rider as an individual.

We have a small group of hardworking lesson horses that help support the program. Riders are also welcome to lesson on their own horses, which often allows for greater scheduling flexibility.

Facility
Cascade Farms offers a variety of spaces to support productive
lessons throughout the week.
Our indoor arena provides a dependable place to ride when the weather calls for it, while the outdoor arena is dragged and leveled regularly and features a jumping course set each week.

The large East pasture offers a secure riding space with more open views, along with varied jumps for riders looking for a different setting. A round pen in the back of the property is also available for at-liberty work, lead-line lessons, groundwork, or small turnout.

For riders hauling in, we offer trailer parking and a dedicated on-site tacking area for convenience.
Our Approach
Jennifer’s background has shaped a program that values both education and horsemanship. As the child of an educator, she has always taken teaching seriously and believes that strong riding begins with strong basics.
Her goal is to help riders build confidence, correctness, and a lasting understanding of the horse first, creating a foundation that serves them well no matter where their riding takes them.

Scheduling
Lessons are offered by appointment only and are scheduled Wednesday through Sunday each week. Because our program is intentionally personalized, scheduling is designed to support the needs of each horse and rider combination.
